dish and discussion of the latest news and events from the U.S. political scene
1. The liberal group Moveon.org offers a “fun” voter harassment video service. From the convenience of your computer you can harass, coerce, even terrify anyone on your email list with a personalized “you better vote for Obama or else” video message. The video delivery site, CNNBC site says the following:
Customize Videos For Yourself And Your Friends
This news video is a fun, memorable way to show your friends what might happen if any of us don’t vote. Customize it for your friends—and feel free to send yourself one, too. And don’t worry—after we send out the link to the video, we won’t email your friends again. And we’ll never sell or distribute your email address or your friends’ email addresses.
One blogger I know got one of these and wasn’t amused. She is an attorney who may seek a legal remedy against her neighbor if harassing emails continue. I made a video for the person truly responsible for Obama losing the election. Priceless and appalling.
2. Obama For America (aka Barack Obama campaign for President or Barry Soetoro for President) will proceed game 5 (con’t) of the World Series tonight to sell the Obama product in a 30 minute infomercial. Sorry, Barry but we aren’t buying it. The McCain campaign will run a 30 second ad called “Special” before and after the infomercial.
3. Where’s the tape? No, not Michelle Obama’s “whitey tape” but the Obama-Khalidi tape that the LA Times is withholding. The McCain campaign is hammering the LA Times to release the tape. McCain believes that the paper would produce any tape that showed him or Palin at a neo-Nazi event. He asserts there is a double standard because they won’t release the tape which shows Obama in the company of and praising the former PLO spokesperson, Rashid Khalidi. There were also anti-Israel statements made during the event. Khalidi worked for the PLO at a time when the PLO was considered by the U.S. to be a terrorist organization. Khalidi also has a long history of expressing anti-Israel views. Other notable terrorists at the event, the infamous Weather Underground founders William Ayers and his lovely terrorist wife, Bernardine Dohrn. Khalidi received grant funding from Obama and Ayers when they worked together at the Woods Foundation. What a friendly group these people are.
4. Yep, we’re racists.

5. Polls tighten. McCain closing in on Obama who is now only up by 3 in the national polls according to Gallup, Rasmussen, Investor’s Business Daily.
6. Florida voting rolls contain 65,000 dead people, duplicates, and ineligible felons. Republican Gov. Crist extends early voting hours to accommodate mass of early voters. When I voted on Friday, I waited an hour and a half. I support Crist’s move to help people vote. The right to vote is essential. I just hope the 65,000 dead, duplicate, and ineligible voters stay home.
Oh, the change! New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson drops bid for Obama's Commerce Secretary in wake of federal grand jury investigation into government contract exchange for campaign contributions.
When will it end? Should government bailout newspapers? Connecticut lawmaker wants state to bailout two local newspapers, sparks debate about government involvement in the press.
Former DNC chair and Clinton loyalist, Terry McAuliffe, announces run for Virginia governor.
Democratic controlled Congress gives itself 3% pay raise despite recession ... Congress denies raises for federal judges ... Universities, factories and even hospitals force employees to take unpaid furloughs.
