dish and discussion of the latest news and events from the U.S. political scene
Florida started early voting on October 20 for the general election match up between McCain and Obama (the Lord of lies, flip floppery, voter fraud, caucus fraud, race-baiting, and dirty politics). Traditionally, I’ve voted on election day, November 4, for all the Democrats, even the weakest of Dems. Why? Because I’ve been a loyal and unquestioning Democrat for 20 years. But this year, I’ve had enough with the Obamacrats and their shenanigans. No more. I’m ready for change. I’m ready for leadership that this country needs, wants, and deserves.
On Friday, October 24, 2008, I cast my PUMA vote in the great swing state of Florida for McCain/Palin 2008 and Hillary Clinton 2012.

Sacrilege! I can hardly believe it myself but sometimes extreme measures are needed and I know that I won’t be alone. SM, another Florida PUMA blogging at The Confluence, shared some interesing poll numbers for Florida:
FLORIDA will not go to the FL-primary and convention vote hoarder Barack Obama - the PUMA vote is in EFFECT. I’ve waited to see the SUSA polls for today, but the latest numbers for SUSA says the following for Florida:
- 52% of Hispanics are voting McCain
- 22% of African-Americans are voting McCain (WOW!)
- 13% of Liberals are voting McCain
- 39% of Moderates are voting McCain
- 34% of Pro-Choice voters are voting McCain
- 53% of Central Florida is voting McCain
- 18% of registered Democrats are voting McCain
- 44% of Independents are voting McCain
- 39% of non-Religious people are voting McCain.
Those are some very interesting numbers for Florida that the Obamedia will likely ignore, distort, spin, and then continue to talk about Palin’s wardrobe. In fact, I’m even hearing that Obama has already won. Wow, and the majority of the electorate hasn’t even voted yet. He truly is The One .
If you are as disgusted with this nonsense as I am; if you are disgusted with media bias, sexism, and misogyny; if you are disgusted with how the Obama campaign (along with Democratic party leaders in his pockets) used sexism, misogyny, and false charges of racism against the Clintons and Hillary’s supporters, if you are as disgusted with Obama’s lies, broken campaign promises, and flip flops as I am, then don’t reward the behavior by voting for him just because he is a Democrat. He isn’t; he is a liar and an opportunist who is willing to do or say anything to get power. Remind you of anything — the Bush Administration. I’m done with Bush and I’m done with Obama!
Instead, I chose to remember Hillary. I remember her solutions to restore America and her strength, perseverance, and grace. I remember her smart, wonky ways and vast knowledge of the issues. I remember that she won the popular vote and should be the party nominee. I remember that only a few pledge delegates separated her and Obama, delegates gained by fraud. I remember Obama’s caucus fraud and how the RBC committee gave him votes from Michigan, a state where he removed his name from the ballot. I remember they gave him four of Hillary’s delegates. I remember the convention sham and how Democratic party leaders thwarted the will of the people and selected Obama.
I won’t forget, nor am I ready to forgive. I cast my “No Deal” protest vote with full conviction.
Instead, I said “Yes” to truth, free and fair elections, one person one vote, and the spirit of democracy and the Democratic Party. By stopping the Obama fraud, I said “Yes” to hope and possibility of having the leadership for the country and the party that we need, want, and deserve. I said “Yes” to Hillary Clinton 2012!
Own your vote! Get out and vote! Don’t let the Obamedia shout down and shut down our elections!
[Update] The SUSA poll noted is 10 days old; however, the break down is what is most interesting. SUSA says, “Compared to an identical SurveyUSA tracking poll 3 weeks ago, almost nothing has changed in the Florida data, at a time when the world has changed profoundly.” When I started writing this post on Friday, the poll was only 7 days old and the only one available.
Real Clear Politics has a good collection of state polls. The October 26 poll from Fox News/Rasmussen Report released today says, “In Florida, Obama is also back on top this week, 51% to 47%. A week ago, the two candidates were essentially even but the current results are very similar to those from polls earlier in October.” If you check out the table, you can see this type of movement back and forth between Obama and McCain for the past 7 weeks. This election isn’t over no matter how hard Team Obama beats it’s drum.
Oh, the change! New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson drops bid for Obama's Commerce Secretary in wake of federal grand jury investigation into government contract exchange for campaign contributions.
When will it end? Should government bailout newspapers? Connecticut lawmaker wants state to bailout two local newspapers, sparks debate about government involvement in the press.
Former DNC chair and Clinton loyalist, Terry McAuliffe, announces run for Virginia governor.
Democratic controlled Congress gives itself 3% pay raise despite recession ... Congress denies raises for federal judges ... Universities, factories and even hospitals force employees to take unpaid furloughs.

Hillary endorsed Obama. It’s hard for me to imagine a feminist voting for Palin. McCain and Palin both think that abortions should be illegal. I don’t see how a feminist could be ok with that.

Well Susan, imagine it because real feminists do support Palin because real feminist support all women, not just women we agree with 100%, who are white, and straight. McCain and Palin aren’t going to touch Roe v. Wade, so stop with the scare tactics. This is just as bad as the Republicans fear mongering with national security issues.
Yes, yes, we know that Hillary endorsed Obama. Honey, she had to or her career would be over. The Obamedia hounded her until it felt satisfied that she was doing enough to prop up Obama. I own my vote and am not part of the “Vote for the Democrat in name only” sheeple. Obama is a fraud, a liar, and inexperienced which disqualifies him from being Commander-in-Chief. We just lived through 8 long years of Bush, we don’t need another dolt just because he is more articulate and calls himself a “Democrat”.
This country needs competent leadership. I think we can agree on that. But don’t blame me, I voted for Hillary!

I can understand that you’re proud of your vote for Hillary.
I would be more sympathetic if you had written in Hillary Clinton for president. Write in votes are still allowed, yes?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phyllis_Schlafly
You say that real feminists support all women. Of course, we’d have to define “support” before I could agree or disagree with you. I certainly would never vote for Phyllis Schlafly. And I would never vote for Sara Palin.
from wikipedia:
“Palin has stated that abortion should be banned in nearly all cases, including rape and incest, except if the life of the mother is endangered. ”
I wouldn’t vote for someone just because she is a woman anymore than I would vote for someone just because he is a democrat. IF you’re saying that you’ll always vote for the woman if she’s running against a man EVEN if her views differ from yours, then I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree.
I did very much appreciate your research on the amendments. Thanks. I’m still on the fence on #3 and #4 and #6 and #8.

Susan, I support every women’s right to speak, be heard, and to be treated with respect even if I don’t agree with what she says or believes. I support everyone’s right regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, etc. Gender and sexism just happen to have been made into an issue this election. I have a heightened awareness because of that.
We’re not talking about Schlafly. We are talking about Palin, a women who is a successful leader in Alaska, with a proven record of accomplishment and bipartisan cred, and is the most popular US Governor. Let’s acknowledge that. She is not a social issues political activist like Schlafly. Palin’s personal views on abortion are just that, personal, and are her choice. She has not tried to legislate her personal views as mayor or governor and has said in interviews that those are her personal views. I know that both Palin and McCain are pro-life, but neither has tried to threaten a women’s right to choice. I’m not so naive to think that they might not try, but with a Democratic congress they won’t get far (unless the Democrats throw choice under the bus too). I’m more worried about Obama ending two wars successfully, the safety of this country, and our economic future. McCain can lead this country for the next four years until 2012 when Hillary takes over.
I’m glad you found the info on the FL amendments helpful. I like to thoroughly research candidates and issues before making decisions. I can understand why you are sitting on the fence with 4, 6, and 8. I went back and forth on those as well. It came down to the question “does this belong in the constitution or is it best handled with legislation?” Good luck and happy voting. I appreciate you stopping by and sharing your opinions.

I liked Melissa McEwan’s post on this.

“Perfectly Logical Calculations, and Why They’re Actually Not” is an excellent and insightful essay by McEwan. Here’s a snip:
Thanks for the link, PD. I read her essay back in July, which seems like a life time ago. She smartly says what many women (and men) are feeling about this election.

I’m a Republican and I just want to thank all of you who see Obama for what he is. As much as I want our party to win I would have to concede the fact that a loss to Hillary would have been welcomed compared to the alternative. Keep the faith…Hilary will have hers in 4!!!

Thanks, p8prclip. Once I started peeling back Obama’s layers (that the media worked so hard to hide), I saw the truth along with millions of other people. You know that 18 million of us voted for Hillary in the primaries and not all of us have sipped Obama’s kool-aid since then. Apparently, we are not as susceptible to propaganda as some of our fellow Democrats. I’ve been surprised to see some people who I thought were intelligent and could think for themselves turn in sheeple and become so unwilling to face the fact that Obama is a fraudster. I think they have a strong psychological/emotional attachment to him, which makes them unable to see him for who he really is. It’s no wonder parallels are drawn to the rise of Hilter and Nazi Germany.

[Hog, I had to change your post name because it grossed me out, but you made a good comment.]
Personally I think it’s fair to say the Democrat Party is a good party with some great ideas? most true Democrats have a really big hart, and poses good values… Something happened to Sen. Clinton during the primary, I will be as honest as I can in saying this, while I really didn’t care for the Sen. over the years I gave her nothing but respect the Clinton’s were like the villain you just love to hate, and you want them around to fight a good fight… I didn’t see it as a Sen. Hillery Defeat I saw it for what it truly was? she was railroaded by a Chicago Thug Machine and they didn’t care how they did it! now the Democrat Party has been high jacked and is being represented by a THUG! a Socialist Marxist at that! just look at the company he keeps! that tells you who he really is moreover exposes him! I will give my vote to anyone, other then this left wing nut… No matter what issue comes up including ACORN, Ayers, Marshall Davis, Rezzco, the media refuses to expose him? Sen. Clinton said it herself now can you imagine if a Republican would have flaunted this Obama thought, he wants to create a civilian squad “civil defense squad” and in his own words “thats just as powerful and well funded as our military,” are you kidding me? in return they get to go to collage? this alone out to just scare the living hell out of all you? 3rd world countries have these so called squads and they are well used to do one thing and one thing only? silence the crowd, decent, and deal with those who refuse to keep silent, no wonder he is so in love with China…
Sen. Hillery Clinton never threw out such an ideology, that would ultimately convey to destroy the fabric of this country…
God Bless America and may she continue to live on… Please if your undecided keep in mind Obama is not just a Republican or Democrat issue?keep in mind he is a Socialist and in fact out to destroy both parties under the cover, and disguise of a Democrat.
