This announcement has unleashed yet another wave of sexism on the left-wing blogosphere. I’m not going to vote for McCain/Palin, but I’m appalled that she is being ridiculed as a “token” and a dumb beauty queen. I thought we were supposed to be the progressives.

Yes, it has, Drew. We had a lively, and at times, heated debate at AC on the selection. The sexism, guilt tripping, and fear mongering was troubling and annoying. I’ve heard about hard core attacks coming from the sewer (a.k.a Daily Kos). Wing-nuts are wing-nuts whether they call themselves conservatives or progressives. Regardless what anyone says, this is an historic VP pick for the GOP. Good for them, it’s about time. Democrats did it 20 years ago, and Hillary almost won (really she did) the nomination for President. Palin is on McCain’s ticket because of Hillary and the excitement she sparked in women.
